Welcome back to a brand new video, where everything is new: New type of locomotive, new route, both never shown before. This time we find ourselves in Thun, a lovely city situated at the gates of Bernese Highlands (or Bernese Oberland), close to the Swiss Alps and right next to Lake Thun. Our task today is to bring the locomotive to the workshop, which is situated just behind Interlaken Ost station. We start in Thun with a shunting maneuver and continue as train to Spiez, followed by a short downhill section down to again reach Lake Thun. Parts of our trip take us right along the shores of Lake Thun, a beautiful lake just at the base of the massive Bernese mountains. A cab ride in the middle between a stunning lake and the famous Alps, it probably doesn't get any more beautiful than this. Our terminus today is Interlaken Ost, as the name suggests it is the eastern of the two stations in Interlaken. It is rightfully a popular tourist destination and the starting point of many exciting train lines: The Zentralbahn to Luzern (also featured on this channel!) or the Bernese Oberland Bahn into the Alps, where you can again change trains and reach Jungfraujoch , the highest train station in Europe!
